The Community Centre comprises of four ex-old peoples bungalows, 2 of which have already been renovated (see Centre history), and 2 which are currently in the local councils planning application system, prior to restoration (see New projects).

Benton Estate is made up of 1050 households, and has a fairly even split between council tenants and those who have bought the original council owned property.  The area of Benton is found approximately 5miles (8km's) north of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne, which  itself is situated near the coast in the north east region of England (see How to find the centre).

The centre offers a range of activities, classes and courses from various groups within the centre, as well as outside education providers and funders. These include numerous computing classes, keep fit, bingo and holistic therapies amongst others.
